Not every estate requires a full probate administration.  Whether probate is necessary depends on what the person owned, how those assets were titled, whether beneficiaries were designated, and other circumstances.  I can review the situation with you and help determine what actually needs to be done.

When someone dies without a valid will, Georgia’s intestacy laws determine who inherits the estate.  A family member or other interested person may need to petition the Probate Court to be appointed administrator before estate assets can be collected and distributed.

There is no single timeline.  A relatively straightforward estate can often be handled much more efficiently than one involving creditor issues, difficult-to-locate assets, disagreements among beneficiaries, or other complications.  My goal is to identify what needs to be done and help move the estate through the process as efficiently as the circumstances allow.
